Supplement recommendations

Naturopathic Doctors are trained to check interactions of supplements with medications to ensure that supplements do not interfere with the effectiveness of medications.  Naturopathic doctors make supplement recommendations based on health history and assessments. Self-prescribing of supplements is not recommended. Dr. Nadia Mawji, ND communicates supplement recommendations on an individual basis and these do require periodic follow up and reassessment.

Not all supplements are created equally. Therapeutic doses, fillers/preservatives, quality of extraction methods, delivery method, bioavailability, standardized extracts, etc. - all of these are factors in creating a supplement plan individualized to you. At the end of the day, supplements are only supplements and are not intended as a replacement for nutrients or meals.

Dr. Nadia Mawji, ND integrates research while devising plans for patients. Majority of supplement recommendations are not intended for long-term use and follow up is recommended at the suggested intervals in order to approve refills and make amendments as needed. There is also a possibility that supplements may not be recommended. Each and every patient receives individualized guidance based on their naturopathic assessment.
