This is an all-time favourite in my (humble) opinion. This protein ball recipe is great as a pre-workout snack or a balanced sweet treat as a "date delight"! **Allergy Alert: Avoid using nuts or other allergens if you or loved ones have allergies!

Protein balls with nuts, seeds, coconut, oats. Gluten-free

Ingredients:

Pitted dates (14)

Sunflower seeds

Pumpkin Seeds

Chia seeds

Nuts of choice (if you are not allergic)

Nut or Seed Butter

Coconut chips unsweetened

Cocao powder or cacao nibs

Gluten free oats

Olive oil and/or Avocado oil

...ANYTHING ELSE YOU WISH TO ADD!

Directions:

  1. Heat up dates over the stove, with a ½ teaspoon of avocado oil to prevent sticking. Medium heat is important, do not heat on high

  2. Transfer heated dates to a mixing bowl

  3. Soften dates with a table spoon and/or use your hands. If you do use your hands, add a touch of olive oil to your hands to make it less sticky (be sure to wash hands before & after)

  4. Add your desired amounts of:

Sunflower seeds

Pumpkin seeds

Chia seeds

Mixed nuts

Cacao powder/cacao nibs

Coconut chips unsweetened & oats – to either roll the date delight balls through or to add to the mixture – whichever you prefer.

Once you have everything you want in the bowl....

  1. Mix desired contents in bowl using your hands. **Caution: the dates may still be hot, so be careful not to burn yourself!

  2. Enjoy a taste of your delicious mix while you’re mixing away…there’s nothing better than ""taste testing" along the way!

  3. Roll into ping-pong ball-sized OR you can spread the mixture onto a baking sheet to cut into comparable small squares after it cools.

  4. Allow cooling for 15 minutes and then serve!

  5. Refrigerate for storage.
