cardiometabolic risk assessment
Often, when we think of cardiometabolic risk, we think of cholesterol levels. Although an important factor, cholesterol is not the only marker to provide insight into cardiovascular health. Even so, the cholesterol markers run on standard lab testing usually identify the types of cholesterol present, but there is more to the picture - markers for hereditary high cholesterol, other markers for cardiovascular disease including but not limited to homocysteine, inflammatory cardiovascular disease markers to predict risk, liver health status, blood sugar regulation markers and many more.
Cardiovascular risk factors can increase the risk for a cardiovascular event including:
-
stroke
-
heart attack
-
heart failure
-
peripheral vascular disease
-
& more.
This panel may provide additional information in comparison to standard lab testing to help catch disease processes early and allow for you to seek out specialized medical care sooner, if needed.
Meeting with Dr. Mawji can help you learn about what types of testing may be the most beneficial and indicated for you.
